Smith & Nephew Allevyn Tracheostomy Dressing Size 9cmx9cm (66007640)
ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy Dressing — Hydrocellular Foam Dressing
ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy Dressing combines the proven ALLEVYN™ hydrocellular technology with a key-hole aperture, allowing the dressing to fit neatly around a tracheostomy tube, stoma, or drain. The dressing features a pink, waterproof outer film layer, a highly absorbent hydrocellular core, a non-adherent wound contact layer, and a cushioned pad for comfort.
ALLEVYN™ Tracheostomy Dressing is soft, comfortable, and non-adherent, and is designed to manage fluid, secretion, or exudate build-up associated with tracheostomy tubes. The dressing is single-use only and must not be used with oxidising agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide, as these may degrade the absorbent polyurethane component.
- Highly absorbent: absorbs large volumes of secretions, helping reduce the risk of maceration and maintain healthy peristomal skin.
- Easy application and removal: key-hole design allows simple positioning and painless removal with minimal patient distress; can be cut to shape if required.
- Breathable protective film: OPSITE™ outer film helps prevent leakage of secretions while acting as a barrier to bacteria.
- Non-adherent design: minimises adherence to both the tracheostomy tube and surrounding skin, reducing trauma during dressing changes.
- Comfortable and soft: cushioned foam layer provides protection and patient comfort.
- Clean, reassuring appearance: fewer dressing changes due to high absorbency, supporting cost-effectiveness and reduced discomfort.
Instructions for Use
- Cleanse the wound following standard clinical procedures and dry the surrounding skin.
- Position the dressing around the stoma or tracheostomy tube, ensuring the white patterned surface faces the neck.
- Cut the dressing to the required size if necessary.
- Secure with OPSITE™ FLEXIGRID Transparent Film Dressing or HYPAFIX® Non-Woven Adhesive Dressing Sheet if additional fixation is required.
- Inspect the tracheostomy site frequently during the early stages of treatment. The dressing may remain in place for up to 7 days, or until exudate approaches approximately 3/4" from the edge.
- To remove, take off any retention dressing or bandage and gently lift the dressing away from the wound.
