KIS Alginate Dressing Regular Sheet, Box of 10 - All Sizes
KIS Alginate is a calcium-alginate dressing which forms a soft, integral gel when it comes into contact with wound exudate. Excess wound exudate is absorbed in this process. Algisite M utilises the proven benefits of moist wound healing, which results in faster healing of even difficult wounds.
When applied to a wound there will be an ion-exchange between the calcium in the dressing and sodium from the exudate, forming a soluble calcium/sodium alginate gel. The free calcium ions in the wound will amplify the clotting cascade and can reduce bleeding.
The interaction with the wound exudates will create a protective gel that is nonadherent and creates a moist wound healing environment.
